We take a holistic approach to farming and consider the whole system as a living, breathing ecosystem. When we make decisions for our farm, we consider how it will affect the animals, plants, soil, wildlife and of course the end consumer. Our cattle are moved to fresh pasture daily taking advantage of a multitude of forage species including grasses, legumes, forbs and brassicas. Our pigs are rotated frequently through the wooded areas of our farm foraging on grasses, forbs, legumes nuts, roots, and other goodies the forest provides.

There is no admission fee to access the store. You can access both the strawberry fields and the play area and barn with a single admission fee of $11 (paid online or $13 paid at the gate) per person. Tickets for only the strawberry field are just $1 when purchased in advance. Tickets for just the playspaces are also available. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance, as access to the strawberry fields at the gate depends on availability. Dad at 86 still tends the cows and works the garden.Our Beefmaster cross cattle were the first Beefmasters in North Carolina 45 years ago.
At Sprouting Acres Farm, we deliver you the freshest vegetables and fruits around town! Most known for being at the Oakboro Farmers Market selling fresh tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers. In 2023 we have expanded to offer more fruits and vegetables!

Hall Family Farm is a 4th generation family farm conveniently located in the Ballantyne Area 2 miles south of I-485. We offer pick-your-own or pre-picked strawberries in the spring and seasonal vegetables in the summer, and pumpkins and a corn maze in the fall. Seasonal vegetables are sold pre-picked in our sales tent.

They also offer blackberries and blueberries later in the season, plus tomatoes, zucchini, and other produce in the summer. Weddington, NCThe Hunter Farm is a family-run farm in Weddington, North Carolina. In the spring they offer strawberry picking and fun wagon rides to their animal barn. You’ll want to stay tuned to their Facebook page for official opening information, but currently, they are targeting mid-April 2024 to open for the spring season!

They also offer a barn with animals and a playground area with admission, plus a farm store with pre-picked strawberries, kettle corn, and ice cream.
